Our Aims & How We Work
Old Warren House is a Key Stage 4 Pupil Referral Unit which offers an alternative eductation for pupils with a range of needs which are mainly focused around social, emotional and mental health needs. The school caters for pupils in Year 10 and Year 11 of their education who live within the Northern Area of Suffolk. Referrals are generally done by the mainstream school submitting an Inclusion Service Referral form. This can be found through the link below:
We aim to offer a broad range of options to help address pupils’ individual needs through the provision of an appropriate curriculum that fosters the relationships that will help to build the resilience required for pupils to successfully continue their learning in a suitable post-16 environment.
We provide a fresh start in a supportive learning environment. Within a framework of equal opportunities, we give access to good educational opportunities and promote achievement and attainment, both personal and educational, for everyone who comes to our school. We foster an open environment where pupils feel they are being treated with dignity and respect and so are able to develop their own sense of self-belief and personal aspirations.
We aim to do our very best to support all of our learners and their families. In doing so, we work closely with a number of other professionals, including School Health, Social Care, the Early Help Team, Youth Offending, Education Welfare and Transport in order to help with any barriers to education. Should a parent feel that any support may be needed, Old Warren House will liaise quickly and effectively with the Early Help Team in order to identify the best route for this.
We recognise that there will be times when a parent of member of the public feels that we are not getting it right and in this instance I would urge you to contact the school via any of the following methods:
